Flight compensation check

Delayed, cancelled or denied boarding? See whether EU or UK passenger-rights rules may apply to your flight and what fixed amount they set.

Could you be owed compensation?

Answer five questions. We show a fixed amount only where EU or UK rules set one; for other flights we tell you where to check.

How the check works

  • EU rules apply to flights departing from the EU/EEA/Switzerland on any airline, and to flights arriving there on an airline from that area. The UK version works the same way for the UK (arrivals on UK or EU airlines).
  • The fixed amount depends on distance: €250 / €400 / €600 (EU) or £220 / £350 / £520 (UK) per passenger.
  • A delay counts at arrival and must be 3 hours or more. Extraordinary circumstances (such as weather or air-traffic-control restrictions) remove the fixed amount, but not the right to care or a refund.
  • For other countries — including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states — we do not show amounts. Check the airline’s conditions of carriage and the national regulator.
